Your heart is beating for animals? Then come with us to the animal shelter of Munich on April 17 and help those pets in need with giving them your time and love. After a short tour we will support the animal shelter with its maintenance work. Later on we can play with the animals. A good and eventful day await you! This event is part of the international project SocialErasmus and should motivate exchange students to be part of social and volunteering projects as well as integrate them in the local community. We will start at 8:30 am at the Geschwister-Scholl-Platz in front of the main building of the LMU and go there together, so please be on time. Because it is a little further outside it will take us approximately 40 min to get there. In case you want to go on your own the animal shelter is in Riemer Str. 270. The event at the animal shelter will start at 9:30 am and last until 3 pm more or less. You will get lunch there. IMPORTANT: As it only makes sense for the Animal Shelter if a limited number of people is helping, please fill in this form until sunday evening (April 15, 8pm) in order to save your spot: https://goo.gl/forms/Kvl7ytiesxeJiKxr2
In case you already registered and can’t join, please let us know so someone else can take your spot! Doing something good was never that easy! Would love to see you there!
in order to give you already a little foretaste of the Bavarian Monarchy and its fairtytale-like palace complexes, we’d like to visit the Schloss Nymphenburg with you on Sunday, the 15th of April. The castle was built as a summer residenc efor the bavarian dukes in 1679. At its time, it was still far away from the city. During the following two centuries, it was extended several times and nowadays, not only the castle itself, but also the sourrounding gardens and the adjoining Botanic Garden are really worth visiting! We’ll meet at 13.00 pm at the tramway stop „Schloss Nymphenburg“ (Tram line 16/17). The reduced entrance fee is 5,- €, so don’t forget to bring your student ID. A registration in advance is not necessary – just show up! If the weather is good, we can enjoy the remaining afternoon in a nice Biergarten or café nearby.
We're looking forward to a nice Sunday afternoon with you, your MESA-team
did you just arrive in Munich and want to practice your German skills? Or did you just come back from your own year abroad and miss communicating in different languages? Do you want to meet people from all over the world and overcome the “language barrier” by practicing other languages than your native tongue? Then you should definitely come to our “Sprachcafé” this week.
Where? CADU (Café An Der Uni), Ludwigstraße 24. You can take the metro line 3 or 6 and get off at the station “Universität”. We have the corner in the very back of the bar.
How it works? There will be tables with different language pairs (G-En, G-Es, G-Fr, G-It, G-Portuguese, G-Arabic. After you got a nameplate with your language skills, you can sit down at any table you want, start talking to natives and learners while enjoying a few drinks. You can join at anytime without prior registration.
Of course, all other languages are welcome as well. Please let us know if you miss a language in the list above until Tuesday (10.04.2019) and if you’d like to have other language pairs, so we can reserve more tables. Also feel free to invite your German friends or your LMU-Buddies to ensure that many languages can be spoken.
We are looking forward to seeing you! Lots of MESA-love

Would you like to collect some insider knowledge about your new home in an unconventional way? You will discover some known as well as some not-so-known spots in Munich’s centre! A lot of challenging and fun tasks are waiting for you, that you have to manage in a small group of 3-5 people (we will draw the teams). So do your best – there can be only one winning team!

After all the getting to know the Bavarian drinking culture among students in Munich, we are afraid that you might get the wrong impression. Don’t get us wrong – we love it, but besides from all the amazing party spots, Munich as more to offer than just beer and “Lederhosen”. As we would like to show you our beautiful city, that is so rich in culture and history, also by daylight, we set up a wide range of daily cultural activities. First, we’d like to star with a visit to the “Residenz” on Wednesday, 11th of April. From 1508 to 1918, the building of the Residenz, which is located directly in the city center, used to be the home and seat of government of the Bavarian dukes, electors and kings. Since the monarchy in Germany is abolished, the Residenz was turned into a museum about it’s former residents and very much worth a visit. You can get the feeling of how it might have been like being a part of the Bavarian aristocracy.
We are meeting in front of the Feldherrnhalle (it’s the big building with the statue in the middle and two lions on Odeonsplatz U3/4/5/6) at 3 pm and then are visiting the Residenz together. If you click on the following link you can see the exact meeting point: https://goo.gl/maps/PnBGxFytXhT2. A registration in advance is not necessary, just show up! The regular entrance fee is 7,- €, but with your students ID you get a discount by 1,-€, so don’t forget to bring it. If you want, we’d like to grab a drink with you in a coffee house nearby after the cultural program (it shouldn’t last longer that two hours) and end the day in a more relaxed atmosphere
We are looking forward to seeing you and visiting the Residenz together with you.
it's time for one of our favorite and most fun events! On 11th of April, both ESN sections in Munich, MESA and TUMi, invite you to join us for the karaoke night and the regular’s table in one of Munich’s best Irish Pubs. To be honest with you, there is no reason why not to come! It doesn’t matter if you already have experiences with performing life on stage leaving nothing to chance like a rock star or if your secret desire is to become a member of you favorite teenage boy group. Everyone who loves not only to sing along, but to scream your heart out while your fellow exchange students perform to the greatest hits of the last 40 years, this is the place to be! And by the way: It's all about the fun – there is no competition about the best performance! Whether you just come over for an hour or stay on the dancefloor all night to sing along even the last song – it’s worth it anyway! We'll meet at 9 pm at the subway stop Giselastraße in front of McDonald’s – but of course you can join us later in Shamrock’s Pub, Trautenwolfstraße 6 as well!
Hope to see you in the Shamrocks Irish Pub for only the first of many legendary evenings here!
The time has come: the official beginning of your ERASMUS semester in Munich that may be one of the greatest memories in your life! In order to help you with making those amazing new experiences and friends, that you can still reminisce about when you are a hundred years old, we are organizing the “Speedfriending” event for your. You’ll get the chance to test your socializing skills with other international students in Munich, accompanied by one or another drink. Who knows, maybe the craziest party people are awaiting you on the next table, maybe you’ll get to meet the love of your life? Not only it’ll be a good occasion to find people with whom you could go to the Erasmus Munich Welcome Party on the 13th of April, but also to get to know one of the oldest, tried and tested bars in Munich – the Hopfendolde, a real institution that has already provided one or several students with refreshments even after the lights went out.
