The dramatic love story between the young girl Raymonda and cavalier Jean de Brienne takes place in Hungary at the time of the Crusades: Raymonda is waiting for her fiancé, Jean de Brienne, who went to war with the Hungarian army. One night, a shelter seeking knight, Abderakhman, falls in love with the beautiful Raymonda and after being refused, kidnaps her. Can Jean de Brienne still save her?
The world famous guest ballet dancer Sergei Polunin (also known as the actor in „Red Sparrow” and „Murder on the Orient Express”) will be dancing the role of Jean de Brienne.
Raymonda, first performed in St. Petersburg’s Imperial Theater in 1898, is one of the final works by the choreographer Marius Petipa, creator of Swan Lake, Nutcracker and Giselle.
